Galletas Gullón renews the COVID-19 prevention certificate with ACERTA

Galletas Gullón, the century-old biscuit leader in the sector and the main manufacturer in Europe, renews its certificate of prevention and protection against COVID-19. The cookie maker was the pioneer in the agri-food sector to receive the COVID-19 Prevention / Food certificate.

Specifically, the certifying company ACERTA has revalidated the Contingency Plan implemented, reviewed and continuously updated by the company to isolate the industry from the coronavirus, ensure the health and protection of its employees, as well as guarantee the supply of the population.

The COVID-19 Prevention / Food Certificate ratifies the prevention protocol during the pandemic carried out by the company based on the guidelines and recommendations of the World Health Organization, the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry of Health and the Regional Ministry of Health of the Junta de Castilla y León, among others. In this way, Galletas Gullón responds to the trust demands of employees, consumers, companies and platforms of distribution, the

preventive measures established, and which have been audited, have allowed it to keep its factories and production processes safe since the State of Alarm was declared.

During the last year and a half at Galletas Gullón we have assumed the challenge posed by COVID-19, with the aim of ensuring the well-being and health of employees, isolating our production centers from the coronavirus to guarantee production and supply of the entire population ”, assures Paco Hevia, Corporate Director of Galletas Gullón. “Our main intangible is trust with our stakeholders. For this reason, we work intensely to develop innovation, for food safety and for quality in order to consolidate that perception ”.

Contingency Plan measures

The Contingency Plan has been continually subject to review and monitoring by the Galletas Gullón Safety Committee. Among the measures contemplated by this plan are: temperature control for workers when accessing their plants; the disinfection of risk areas such as common areas; the separation of jobs in the plant and offices, through physical separations; the implementation of important organizational measures to control visits and non-essential external services; the increase in the minimum physical separation of people at access points; common areas and in the position itself through the promotion of teleworking; the escalation of work shifts among others; the distribution of approved masks, and of face shields and protective glasses. In addition, access to hydroalcoholic hand disinfection gels has been guaranteed in all positions and for all employees.

Recognized for its certifications

The Aguilar de Campoo company is at the forefront of the food industry in terms of certification and external audits, being the first in the biscuit sector to receive the ISO 9001 quality and 14001 environmental management seals and its VIDA factory received the BRC seal AA +, the highest recognition of food safety. In addition, it has recently been endorsed for its good practices with the SMETA certificate, recognizing excellence in all areas of the company, from respect for human rights, labor policies, equality and diversity, food safety and environmental protection.

Currently, Galletas Gullón has more than 20 certificates of quality, innovation, food safety, CSR and environmental management among which are the IFS and BRC seal in food safety, the verification of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory ( Organization Carbon Footprint), or the BIO Certificate of production and labeling of all its organic products among others.
