GGN Label – The GLOBALG.A.P. label that the consumer will be able to see in certified products.

28/05/2021

The GGN label was first launched in 2016 for aquaculture products and in 2017 for floriculture products. Now, from April 2021, it can also be carried by fruits and vegetables.

Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P., Assures that “transparency is the essence of the GGN label. We help, on the one hand, consumers to know the origin of their products and, on the other, companies that practice and advocate responsible production, to show it. Together, we take transparency to the next level. ”

All products with the GGN label come from a producer whose production processes have been certified by an independent body in accordance with the international standards GLOBALG.A.P. or one of the equivalent standards recognized by GLOBALG.A.P.

These standards cover food safety, sustainability, environmental protection, animal welfare, worker health and safety, and transparency in the supply chain.

For products to be eligible for the GGN label, each member of the supply chain must have obtained the corresponding certification or reached the corresponding level of compliance in the evaluation of:

A valid certificate for the GLOBALG.A.P. Standard for Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) for fruits and vegetables.

Full compliance with the GLOBALG.A.P. Module: Risk Assessment in Social Practices (GRASP). The evaluation of this module takes place during the IFA audit or inspection and allows to check the level of social welfare on the farm.
….

Control of maximum residue limits (MRLs) through a residue control system recognized by GLOBALG.A.P.
..

A valid Chain of Custody certificate. The GLOBALG.A.P. standard for the Chain of Custody (CoC) guarantees the segregation and traceability and, therefore, the integrity, of products certified by GLOBALG.A.P. all the way from the farm to the market shelf.

The labels are printed with a 13-digit code that the consumer can consult on the GGN label portal (www.ggn.org) and thus know the origin of the product they purchase, with the guarantee of responsible production.

The GGN label is the visible face of a transparent system that encourages consumers to trust the product they consume and the brands that carry it.
