A Certificate of Energy Saving or CAE is a document that officially recognizes the energy savings derived from an action that improves energy efficiency in a company, public or private building, or entity. The CAE, after prior verification by an entity accredited by ENAC, can be settled against the contribution obligations to the National Energy Efficiency Fund (FNEE) of the companies that are known as Obligated Parties. ENAC, at the request of the Directorate General for Energy Policy and Mines of MITERD, has prepared an accreditation scheme (RDE-33) that takes as a reference the standards UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17029:2019 and UNE-EN ISO 14065:2020, which establishes the specific criteria for the accreditation of the verifier.
